My fellow southern missioneers, We’ve got news for you. We will be closed to the public Friday October 18, for a lovely couple’s wedding rehearsal dinner. I am sorry to have to close down for the night, but, I do love a party at the porch. You know, I’ve always been a strong believer in love, especially when accompanied by great food. You too can have a love party, or a company function, or break dance competition, or a fiddle battle, at the front porch. We hold a few private events a year and we’d love to have yours. Give us a call. word.
Look at the new art on these old walls. Rachel Znerold makes us look good. You can buy her artwork at Secession Art and Design just around the corner on Mission Street, or online at secessionsf.com. And speaking of art, you should see Adam’s bloody maries Sunday Mornings from 10 am while you watch every football game at Rock Bar. PS He is a cocktalian cut from the old cloth, meaning a Ramos gin fizz will bring smiles not scowls. Bring your brunch receipt from the porch and get a buck off your cocktails.
Bring your kiddos down to the second annual Porch Pumpkin Patch. On October 19th after brunch at 3:00. The Great Pumpkin delivers pumpkins for you and yours to carve. We’ll supply the utensils, roast pumpkin seeds, and the ghoulish kid and adult libations, you provide the creativity. Earn gift certificates and t-shirts for best Porch-o-lantern. It’s free till we run out of pumpkins.
If you haven’t watched our episode of Diners Drive-Ins and Dive yet,you can get it on demand. Ours is episode 3 of Season 18. Remember, TV adds 10 lbs. Our restaurant is not that heavy. p.s. we love you
Hungry late night? The porch will be open til 11pm now on Friday and Saturdays starting Friday, September 6th.
Come down to the porch and rock bar to see which one we are. The front porch stars on the food network’s program “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.” Be here when the nation turns its eyes on the Southern Mission, Finally. We’re throwing a viewing party at The Porch and Rock Bar to celebrate. Come watch your favorite little restaurant on the big screen when the episode airs at 9:30pm on Monday, September 9. Come by at 9:00 to get your seat. Enjoy snacky treat from the front porch’s concession stand at both locations. Last seating for dinner at the Diner or Dive that night will be 7:30.
The Front Porch celebrates it’s lucky 7th anniversary. Come down and get lucky at games of chance with Aces Up Casino Parties. Cash in your Black Jack, Roulette and Poker winnings for great porch prizes. When in Reno, do as the Renoans do. Enjoy our Elvis impersonator throughout the evening, and come dressed as the king himself. Be the most convincing and you win more prizes. Contest starts at 9:00 pm. And just like in Reno, enjoy a cheap buffet. 20 bones gets you more food than you can shake a dice cup at.
On Wednesday, October 16th the front porch hosts Food for Thought sponsored by Mission Graduates. We’re donating a percentage of our sales to help these deserving students. This is our 4th year donating, and we’ve learned that reservations go quickly. The more you order the more difference we all make. Learning is delicious.
